The eWON range is a multifunction connectivity device, for both local and remote industrial Serial and Ethernet devices. For locally connected devices, eWON provides serial/Ethernet protocol translation. For remotely installed devices they provide remote access plus 'monitoring, logging and reporting' intelligence. eWON models for remote site use also include the means of connectivity to these remote sites - via PSTN phone-lines, GSM/GPRS mobile-phone networks and secure VPN Broadband Internet connections. The eWON family is ideal for OEMs and end-users who want to monitor efficiency, save money and avoid unnecessary call-outs by actively monitor remote sites - e.g. for energy usage figures, machine utilisation, machine status etc. An eWON device can also pro-actively data-collect. It can log remote-site data, then dial-up an Internet connection and E-mail this logged data to any E-mail address. Alternatively, it can directly FTP 'put' this data to any local or Internet-connected PC. SMS text-messages and E-mails can also be used to report alarms from remote sites. EWON devices also act as your Internet-gateway to equipment on a remote site, anywhere in the world. By establishing an Internet link and e-mailing you it's Internet IP address, the e-WON allows you to establish a direct Internet TCP/IP link to any remote-site network - ideal for diagnosis of a remote PLC program problem, resetting a remote error etc. The VPN capability acts security to this Internet-connection, ensuring no unwanted visitors gain access to this equipment. Configuration of eWON devices is performed using an interactive, web-server interface. This interface can also be used to invoke the powerful Basic scripting which is supported for total customisation of the eWON operation.
